Most tradies we meet are owed more than they think. We send the invoices on time, keep track of what is outstanding, and follow up the ones that have gone quiet. It is not an awkward conversation when it comes from your accountant instead of you.
Books in a mess? Genuinely, we have seen worse.
Do not be embarrassed about the state of your records. We work happily from any raw data you have, whether that is a shoebox of receipts, a half finished spreadsheet or nothing at all. We will set your books up from scratch and show you how to stay on top of them.
We'll come to you
We work remotely and we travel. Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Scenic Rim, Toowoomba and the Lockyer Valley. If it is easier to talk on site between jobs or at the end of the day, that suits us fine.
What it costs
Bookkeeping and payroll are quoted on how much there is to do, not a flat package you do not need. We will tell you the number before we start.
Who you'll actually deal with
Suzie Gardiner looks after the trades clients at Versatile Accounting, backed by founding director Brendon Gardiner and the wider team. You get a real person who picks up, not a call centre and not a different junior every quarter. Versatile Accounting is a registered tax agent and has been going since 2003.

Questions we get asked
Do I have to change accountants right now?
No. Plenty of people start with one thing, usually the bookkeeping or a late return, and go from there.
I am behind on my lodgements. Is that a problem?
No, and you are not the first. We sort late returns and BAS all the time, and we can talk to the ATO about a payment plan if you need one.
Do you use Xero or MYOB?
Both, plus QuickBooks and Reckon. If you already have a setup we will work in it rather than make you move.
I am a sole trader, am I too small?
No. A lot of our clients started as one person and a ute.
Do I need to come into an office?
No. We work remotely and we travel across South East Queensland. We can come to you.
